Happy 42nd to Steve

Steve turned 42 this year....seems like we just celebrated his 40th.
We had cake and presents at home after work/school.

Steve got a FUNGO bat. What is that you ask? Its a special bat for Coaches. It's light and extra long for easily hitting thousands of grounders to the team.

He really liked it!

He got this Longhorns zip-up jacket too.  Both the teams he coaches (Thomas and Charles) are the Longhorns. And you can never have too much Longhorn gear really.

Brownies were his cake.

They were yummy.

A little while later the boys went for a sleepover at Grammy and Papa's house and we went out with friends. We ate at Pappacitos and then went dancing at Cowboys, Red River.  Steve LOVES to dance and has been wanting to go two-stepping for, oh, 15 years.  We went with a few other couples and had a lot of fun.  Steve even rode the mechanical bull..for a few seconds. ha ha.

Happy Birthday Steve!!

Merry Christmas

This is one of the outtakes from our Christmas card. But I think it actually depicts our family better than the one we chose. Charles loves to hug Thomas, and Thomas does not enjoy it!

Christmas came and went quickly as usual this year, but we did manage to do some fun things to enjoy the season.  One evening The boys, Grammy, Papa and I went to see "Santa Claus, the musical" at a local community theater. The show was cute and the boys actually enjoyed it.

Another fun new event was hosted by our local Flower Mound Community Activity center.  It was called the Grinch Scramble.  There were thousands of candy canes hidden in a big field, and the kids used flashlights to find them.  If they found a Grinch (stuffed doll) they would get a special prize.

They even had real reindeer to check out before the Grinch Scramble!
The boys are ready with flashlights to search.
After the scramble, back at the house, Thomas enjoys one of the larger candy canes he found

And of course Christmas is not complete without a visit to see Santa. He and Mrs. Claus came to Bluebonnet again this year. Only Charles would talk to him this year.

Christmas Eve came, and the boys got all dressed up for Mass

Thomas was chosen as a reader this year for the Children's Mass.  He did an awesome job!

After the beautiful pageant, the new Monsignor serenaded us all with his rendition of Silent Night on the Harmonica! It was super fun, and he was fantastic.

Christmas morning.
 Presents everywhere.
The big ones this year...an electric scooter, Pogo Stick, new video games, a Nintendo 3D DS and remote control helicopter for Charles... and lots of other goodies!

A New wallet for Thomas (oh, and he got glasses too)

He loved the helicopter!

New hoodie with built-in headphones in the hood. Very cool.

Joshua couldn't put down this puzzle ball thingy. It is called Perplexus...He wants the next one now.
Steve and I were both there too...I am showing off my new hat and watch that Steve got me!!

new clothes

Trying out the Pogo

and the electric scooter

Time to Dance...the boys trying out Just Dance Kinect on the XBOX. Hilarious!

Charles had to get in on this too.

A little low tech Angry Birds was pretty fun too.

Joshua relaxing with his new xbox game.

Later that night we had dinner at Grammy and Papa's house. We exchanged presents with them too.

Cool stuff to hang on his walls...

And lots more goodies from Grammy and Papa
Somehow Charles didn't make it into my pictures that evening. But I assure you he was there.

It was a lovely Christmas!
