Happy Birthday Thomas

Our little Thomas is 7! It is hard to believe. On his birthday morning we had our family tradition of donuts in the shape of a "7" for breakfast and a few presents from mom, dad, Joshua, Charles and Grammy and Grandpa. Then it was off to baseball. Later that day we went to pick out Thomas's new bike and helmet. Check it out!

A week later, last Saturday, we had his party at an ice skating rink. Thomas invited some kids from his class and his whole baseball team. He even invited 4 girls from school! The rink was FREEZING cold, but the kids had tons of fun skating, falling and skating some more. The big surprise was Charles. He not only tried to skate, but did an awesome job. He was able to go around the rink all by himself! So cute.

Cub Scouts

Joshua and Thomas both joined Cub Scouts this year. They were very excited to get their uniform and get started. The first thing we had to do was sell popcorn! That wasn't too fun for me, but they loved it. Each boy has to sell $200 worth of popcorn, so we had $400 to sell. They did it though. You should all be thankful...it would have been red bows around boxes of microwave popcorn for everyone come December if they didn't sell it all!!

The first pack meeting was last Thursday, and they built a "raingutter regatta". This is basically a single hull sailboat out of balsa wood that they raced in a raingutter by blowing in the sail. Neither Thomas nor Joshua won their heat, but they got some great ideas for next years race.

My first Blog

I have decided to enter the world of blogging, so here I go. Let me get caught up on what we have been doing lately. The boys started school about 5 weeks ago. Joshua is in 4th grade, Thomas is in 1st grade and Charles is in pre-school. Joshua has a great teacher named Mrs Hall who is actually out on maternity leave until after Christmas. But he really likes the "sub" so all is well there. Thomas has a new teacher to our school named Mrs. Stephens. She is a nice combination of silly, sweet and firm. She has quite a handfull with her class, and she is very patient. So far so good. And last Charles. He always says that he doesn't like school, but I have decided he just wants to be at the big school with his brothers. He has two awesome ladies teaching his class this year. They have tons of energy, which they need since they have 17 4-year-olds!!
