Piano Recital

The boys had their first ever piano recital today. It was so much fun to see all the other kids that take piano from their teacher. Speaking of their teacher, her name is Mrs. Tackett and she is the boys music teacher at school. We really lucked out getting a spot with her. She is SO sweet, but really pushes the kids. She does nothing but encourage them and tell them all how great they are!

We are so proud of how well they are doing with piano. Here are their "movie" selections. Thomas played Star Wars, and Joshua played a song from the Lion King. Then they played their duet, "Yo Ho" from Pirates of the Caribbean.

A little piano

Check out Joshua and Thomas playing a duet they just learned at piano lessons. They have been only playing since January. This is so much fun!!!

Joshua's Big Week

Yes, that is a 10 you are looking at on the plate. Our baby is 10. Double Digits. It's hard to believe. We celebrated his birthday on Sunday with the donuts and a few presents. Charles got him a fish webkinz

And Thomas got him a fun new DS game

Those presents were great, but after opening them, I handed Joshua a treasure hunt clue to his final birthday present. He followed the clues all through the house and finally ended up in the garage where this was waiting for him:

A Ping Pong Table!!!! That is his buddy Shepherd who came over that day and played ping pong all afternoon with the boys. We didn't know what to get him for his birthday. Joshua never really wants anything. Then after remembering all the fun they had playing ping pong when the Perry cousins were in town, we thought it was the perfect choice. So come on back boys...we are ready for you now!

We also went out for ice cream with Shepherd that night since Grammy sent Joshua an ice cream gift card! They both got the LARGE scoop at marble slab and ate every bite.

In addition to having a birthday this week, Joshua was chosen as "kid with character" for 4th grade at school. Here is his nomination form from his teacher and Josh in his Kid with Character shirt he wore on the morning announcements. We are very proud of him. (click on it to read)

And to top it all off, we have had this entire week off from school due to the swine flu ridiculousness. What a perfect time to have a new ping pong table. The school came to their senses and ordered us all back on Thursday, but it was a fun break while it lasted. (at least for the kids)
