after!! beautiful |
And a certain saxophone player from our household played in the jazz band during the event. He has a solo...the third solo around the one minute mark (he's the guy that knocks his music off the stand...but nailed the solo!)
ENJOY!

Joshua was practicing for all-region try-outs. Nicholas joined in on Larry's old trombone... funny!
Charles's highlight of the trip, his cousins dirt-bike. Apparently he's a natural, and of course wants one of his own!!!

Austin City Limits Fest
ACL Fest 2013
I went to Austin to spend time with my best friend Pam and enjoy the great Austin live music festival. Had so much fun!
Day one, we parked and walked to Zilker via the trails on Town Lake.
We arrived early on Friday and the crowd was pretty thin. The festival had this great craft beer tent. They had lots of different beers, and a few gluten free ciders. It was s nice place to get out of the sun for a little bit.
Here we go...Day 1! Pam, Jen and ME. |
The beautiful Austin skyline from Zilker park.
Lots of people bring flags to the event to mark their spot, show their pride etc. There were some really cool/creative flags around.
For our flag, Pam found this cool wind kite who we named Randy. Randy was very useful for finding each other as the festival got more crowded. He was our mascot of the weekend.
T-shirts being modeled on some crazy Austin mannequins
Depeche Mode ended day one.. so fun!
Day 2 we parked near Threadgills and biked into Zilker. Pam's daughter and friend joined us! The bikes were the way to go for sure!!
DAY 2 Another beautiful day! |
Day two was tons of fun.. The music was great. It was very hot, but the cold front blew in around 4:00 and it was downright cold that evening. We ended the night with the Cure. I didn't make it to day 3 as I had to head back home but Pam and Jen represented,. It was a really great time!! I miss Austin!
Our chilly ride back to the car at the end of the night.. |
Thanks Pam, Jen and Leah for a great weekend! XOXO
